This project won First Place for the Bathroom category at the 2016 Philadelphia Interior Design Awards

A sufficiently sized 10’x10’ master bathroom was dated, ill designed and utilitarian. Most of the closet was unused and the tub and shower were both too small. Our client wanted a bigger shower, a freestanding tub, more efficient storage and a spacious feel.  We removed the closet and all interior walls. Plumbing for the shower was moved to the vanity wall. For aesthetics and a more enjoyable bathing experience, the tub was placed under the window. The toilet was moved to the back wall and turned. A sliding glass door was added to allow light into the bedroom and create more openness. The shower floor is now flush with the main floor. For easy access to the shower, only a glass partition separates the shower from the rest of the bathroom.   A custom vanity was purchased with storage suited to the clients needs. Outdoor fabric was used on the window treatments for durability. This was a complete renovation. Responsibilities included floorplan design, material selection/specification, purchasing, project management and the hiring and supervision of specialized labor.
